Welcome!
I’m Lori Wilson, and I'm so glad you've found your way to Questions That Connect!
I'm passionate about building meaningful connections. I also believe that one of the very best ways to foster deep relationships is to ask questions.
So, by way of introduction, I’ll answer a few myself:
What does "EVERYDAY life" look like for me?
I’m committed to helping people make the world a better place, so I spend most of my professional time facilitating for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. For fun, I spend as much time as I can on the sunny trails of the Denver foothills. And I love good food, so most evenings you'll find me in the kitchen or at a local favorite with friends. Quite possibly my favorite thing in the whole world is hosting a long, leisurely conversation over a home-cooked meal.
Who inspires all my talk about connecting?
I recently celebrated 30 years of marriage with Kurt—my high school sweetheart, professional colleague, and favorite conversation partner. We're parents to two remarkable young adults, Pierce and Miriam—fabulous question-askers in their own right. These three enrich my life in more ways than I can count.
And speaking of counting, I long ago lost count of the number of friends and family members who’ve encouraged (and/or endured) my question-asking over the years. This website is one way of saying “thank you” to the wonderful folks who’ve answered my queries and asked great questions in return. This hasn’t been a solo endeavor, and I’m grateful beyond measure for the connections we’ve built along the way.
Where do i call “home?”
To answer this one, I’ll take my cue from Salman Rushdie: "Was it possible to be—to become good at being—not rootless but multiply rooted? Not to suffer from a loss of roots but to benefit from an excess of them?" Over the course of 53 years, I've put down roots in Oregon, Northwestern Argentina, Buenos Aires, Grand Rapids, London, and now Denver. Confession: I'm always just a bit homesick—but just as often, grateful for the many places where I’ve received such warm welcomes!
