Curious?

How are you curious?

Recently I’ve gotten curious about curiosity itself. It’s the animating force behind my questions, so I’ve started to wonder how it works (or, in some cases, doesn’t!). Fortunately, it turns out I’m not the only one wondering about it—a quick google search pulled up a handful of intriguing books and all sorts of emerging research.

One of the things we’re learning is that—while we may have once thought of curiosity as a sort of on/off switch (either I’m curious or I’m not curious) —in actuality we’re all curious, just in different ways. What we get curious about has a huge range, and even the ways we go about being curious vary from person to person and time to time.

So tell me about you: how do you experience curiosity? What sparks it? What does it feel like? What do you do with it?

PS – I recently explored this on a podcast with two dear (and curious) friends – if you’re curious you can have a listen here.
