Stalling…
How do you decide what to do now, and what to put off until later?
I'm listening my way through Oliver Burkeman's very engaging Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals. One of the many bits of wisdom that have caught my attention is this simple phrase: "Get better at procrastinating."
Not really knowing how to go about this, I added these instructions to my to-do list (ironic, right?). As it turns out, it's a great place to have that reminder. My list is always longer than what I can accomplish in a day, and this little phrase has kept me curious about what I can actually put off vs what needs to get done immediately. But I'll admit it -- I'm still not very good at it.
I'd love your thoughts! How do you prioritize? How do you postpone? And (if you get it) how do you navigate that gnawing feeling about the things you didn't get finished?
